references & further reading
Although much of my research has gone beyond these few
references, I have created much of my outlines using these books as a guide.
I greatly recommend them, and will give a brief personal analysis of each as they are listed below.
"Living With Schizophrenia"
Living with Schizophrenia is the first of these references I strongly recommend. It’s relatively short for those who need to cover a lot of ground quickly. It encompasses everything from diagnosis, to possible treatments, and the family dynamic. Although it is not perfect, I found it incredibly helpful as someone who was a diagnosed Schizophrenic but had no clue where to start.

"Surviving Schizophrenia"
This next reference is for those who would like an incredibly in-depth analysis of the disease. Starting with the inner world of suffers, the process for diagnosis, and eventually expanding out towards research. The author did a fantastic job of demonstrating not just how debilitating the disease is, how one might seek treatment, and even how one may advocate for suffers everywhere.
"The Complete Guide To Schizophrenia"
The Complete Family Guide To Schizophrenia is an excellent read, but is certainly more directed towards the family environment created by ones illness. Like the other references, it discusses the basics on diagnosis and treatments. Besides that, it is much more family oriented than the other references I have posted thus far. As someone who has been suffering for years, this particular read reminded me of how important having a support system is. A family support system can be the difference between full recovery versus being untreated for a lifetime. That may seem harsh, but I cannot emphasize this more.
